  I have I have been using this branch for 20+ years for glasses, prescription sunglasses and contact lenses as well as regular eye tests. Unfortunately the latest sunglasses I purchased there late last year broke due to the heat of the sun! I phoned the branch then visited to return the sunglasses as they were broken beyond use and it clearly was a product fault. The young man who "served" me was barely interested merely saying they would get a new frame and call me early the following week when it arrived. I left feeling dissatisfied with the manner of the service but at least the problem was being dealt with. Exactly a week later I rang the branch to chase it up - it was soon apparent that the lady had no record of what I was talking about and asked who it was that had dealt with me. I described the young man she putme on hold. Then she informed me that I had been warned it would take a minimum of 2 weeks for the frame to come in as it was now old stock and I had been invited to choose a different frame. NO, I replied that was simply not the case. She told me to come in and choose a new frame. I endured the hell that is a drive to Stockport these days ( round trip 20 ish miles 5 mins in branch -almost 2 hours on the road!!), where upon I was Informed by another lady - different to the one I had spoken to on the phone - that the old frame was now discontinued and so I ought to choose a new one as there was no chance of the old one coming in. I told her how disappointed I was with the wasted week and promptly chose a frame. She informed me I would receive a call 2 weeks later to collect them. So I was most surprised to receive a call from them less than a week later to say to collect the new sunglasses. "Which ones?" I asked, "the ones you ordered" I was told!! I attempted to explain but was quickly spoken over, " the ones you ordered are in". So I again endured the hellish journey to Stockport to be served by the same woman who surprise surprise handed me an exact copy of the old broken frame - why when I was told this was discontinued? She denied saying that, raising her voice, talking over me and then she SMIRKED at me when I again told her how hugely disappointed I was with the service I had received after using this branch for 20+ years and recommending it to many many people. This she found so amusing she struggled not to laugh out loud!!! What do they teach these people about customer services these days?? I will not be back!! I left the branch holding the un-boxed glasses which had not been fitted to me - I will have them fitted in the Buxton branch where I hope to receive something akin to polite, professional customer service!!
